Mr. Morris has considerable experience in complex business, commercial and bankruptcy-related litigation. Most recently, Mr. Morris led the firm’s trial team in its representation of the ResCap Unsecured Creditors’ Committee where the Committee achieved a highly favorable result after a lengthy trial. In addition, Mr. Morris represents the liquidators of several Cayman Islands investment funds in substantial commercial litigation pending in New York. He was also involved in the contested confirmation hearing for Mesa Airlines, Inc.; challenges to debtor-in-possession financing motions in Circuit City and Landsource Communities Development; and commenced an action against certain lenders relating to a failed leveraged buyout. Mr. Morris also has considerable experience litigating business valuation issues in industries as diverse as software, furniture, utilities, and seismic data. Mr. Morris has tried numerous cases in bankruptcy, federal, and state courts, and has arbitrated and mediated many matters. 

Previously, Mr. Morris served as senior vice president and general counsel of The Robert Allen Group, a world-wide leader in the design and distribution of decorative fabrics and home furnishings; before that, he was a partner in the litigation department of a national law firm. He holds an AV Preeminent Peer Rating, Martindale-Hubbell's highest recognition for ethical standards and legal ability. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law - Newark, where he served as articles editor of the Rutgers Law Review. Mr. Morris is admitted to practice in New York, and is a resident in our New York office.


  • Among numerous representations, Mr. Morris has performed litigation services for the ResCap Unsecured Creditors' Committee, the Joint Official Liquidators of Saad Investments Company, Limited, Mesa Airlines, Inc., the Circuit City Stores, Inc.'s Unsecured Creditors' Committee and Liquidating Trust, and equity committees for Peregrine Systems, Inc., and Seitel, Inc.
