Art Van Furniture

This site has been created to provide unsecured creditors with information about the pending chapter 7 bankruptcy cases of Art Van Furniture and affiliates.

On March 8, 2020, Art Van Furniture LLC and affiliated debtors Art Van Furniture of Canada, LLC;  AV Pure Sleep Franchising, LLC; AVCE, LLC; AVF Franchising, LLC; AVF Holding Company, Inc.; AVF Holdings I, LLC; AVF Holdings II, LLC; AVF Parent, LLC; Levin Parent, LLC; LF Trucking, Inc.; Sam Levin, Inc.; and Comfort Mattress, LLC commenced chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware ("Bankruptcy Court"). Judge Christopher S. Sontchi is the presiding judge. On March 10, the Bankruptcy Court ordered that the cases be administratively consolidated under case number 20-10553 (hereinafter the consolidated debtors will be referred to collectively as "Art Van"). On April 7, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court converted the cases to chapter 7.

Committee Appointment and Conversion to Chapter 7

Before conversion, on March 18, 2020, the United States Trustee appointed the following to a committee of unsecured creditors: La-Z-Boy Inc., Tempur Sealy, Flexsteel Industries, Serta Restokraft, Kingsdown Inc., STORE Capital Corp., and CN AVF Warren (the "Committee"). The Committee selected Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP ("PSZJ") as Committee counsel; Bankruptcy Court approval of the employment was pending at the time of conversion. On April 7, the United States Trustee appointed Alfred T. Giuliano as chapter 7 trustee. PSZJ is now proposed counsel for the trustee. Robert Feinstein and Bradford Sandler are the principal attorneys at PSZJ responsible for this engagement.
