The firm is pleased to announce that Jordan Kroop has been elected to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) Board of Directors. ABI is the largest multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency, with a membership of more than 10,000 attorneys, judges, lenders, bankers, turnaround professionals, and accountants.
Jordan’s involvement with ABI spans several decades. In 2007, he earned the ABI Journal’s coveted Publication Award. Notably, for the last seven years, Jordan has served as Co-Chair of the ABI Southwest Bankruptcy Conference. As a member of the Board of Directors, Jordan will be responsible for determining policy and planning, approving annual budget proposals, and electing all Officers, Directors of the Institute, and the four at-large members of the Executive Committee. Resident in Arizona and the firm’s New York office, Jordan has built a national reputation over a 30-plus-year career representing debtors, creditors’ committees, and acquirers in chapter 11 cases for public and private companies across a wide range of industries. He has significant experience representing parties in chapter 11 asset sales totaling several billion dollars. Jordan is an adjunct professor of law at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy.
