Debra Grassgreen Named to Financier Worldwide’s 2026 Power Players: Distinguished Advisers

We are pleased to announce that Debra Grassgreen, chair of the firm’s international insolvency practice, has been named to Financier Worldwide’s 2026 “Power Players: Distinguished Advisers” list for Bankruptcy & Insolvency. The U.K.-based publication, which covers corporate finance and board-level business issues, recognizes ten professionals worldwide for their leadership in complex restructuring and insolvency matters, drawn from leading firms across the U.S., U.K., and Europe.

The profile highlights Debra’s extensive experience representing debtors and creditors’ committees in complex chapter 11 cases across the technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences sectors, including GoldenPeaks Poland Holding, Carbon Health Technologies, Synthego, Gritstone bio, Amyris, and the SunPower creditors’ committee. Most notably, it spotlights her representation of the official creditors’ committee in The Weinstein Company chapter 11 case, which she called one of the most rewarding, and most difficult, cases of her career. “What made the case rewarding was not the deal mechanics,” she told Financier Worldwide, “it was representing the survivors and making sure their voices were heard throughout the case, the settlement negotiations and ultimately the determination of their individual claims.”

On client relationships, Debra was equally direct: “Clients in distress do not want a menu of pros and cons, they want an adviser who will tell them what to do and why.” Where some regard empathy as a soft skill, she considers it a strength. “Clients running distressed businesses are often facing the most difficult period of their professional lives, and they need counsel who understands that pressure, not just someone who can cite the code.”
