Ben Wallen Named to American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2026 Class of 40 Under 40

The firm is pleased to announce that Ben Wallen has been named to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) 10th Class of “40 Under 40” Honorees. Ben was selected for his accomplishments and expertise by a broad spectrum of professionals from across the insolvency community.

Each year, the highly competitive and prestigious list identifies and honors 40 individuals under the age of 40 who demonstrate remarkable ability, leadership and achievement in the bankruptcy and insolvency community. Ben and his fellow honorees were selected from nearly 300 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, with ABI noting that many of the applicants were partners, directors, or managing directors at their firms.

This recognition is a result of Ben’s outstanding work over the past several years representing debtors, official committees of unsecured creditors, trade vendors, and other parties in some of the largest and most complex bankruptcy cases in the nation. He has had active roles in the firm’s representation of Desktop Metal, Noble House Home Furnishings, Kal Freight and Avenger Flight Group, as well as the creditors’ committees in Neiman Marcus, Hornblower Holdings, Party City Holdco, and Limetree Bay Services. Ben, a resident in the firm’s Houston office, also serves as co-chair of the Legislation & Rules Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Business Bankruptcy Committee and speaks and writes regularly on bankruptcy and insolvency issues.

This year’s honorees will be recognized at a special 10th anniversary ceremony on December 4, 2026, during ABI’s 2026 Winter Leadership Conference at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California.
