Representation of the creditors’ committee in the chapter 11 cases of Altera Infrastructure Project and affiliates in the Southern District of Texas. The debtors are a global energy infrastructure company that provides critical infrastructure assets to the offshore energy industry such as Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units and shuttle tankers. With the firm’s assistance, the committee successfully navigated through the case, significantly improving the debtors’ plan treatment of general unsecured creditors. Ultimately, the confirmed plan—through which $1 billion in debt obligations was equitized—provided for certain unsecured creditors to receive a substantial portion of the new company’s equity interests and for other general unsecured creditors to be paid in full.
