The Firm represented the creditors’ committee in the Conn’s chapter 11 cases in the Southern District of Texas.  Prior to the bankruptcy filings, the debtors were a national furniture, home appliance, consumer electronics retailer with over 550 stores across 15 states. The Firm advised the creditors’ committee on all case matters including the committee’s motion for authority to prosecute certain lien challenge claims against the prepetition lenders and the sales of the debtors’ assets.  With the Firm’s assistance, the committee reached a hard-fought global settlement among the debtors, the committee, and the lenders, culminating in a proposed liquidating plan providing for a trust for the benefit of unsecured creditors.
