Junho Bang

Representation of Professor Soogeun Oh, the foreign representative of Mr. Junho Bang—one of the single largest creditors of FTX—in a chapter 15 proceeding in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Mr. Bang, a convicted fraudster who took part in a fraudulent cryptocurrency-related scheme, is the subject of a rehabilitation proceeding in Korean bankruptcy court. The firm is advising the foreign representative in the chapter 15 case and successfully obtained recognition of the Korean proceeding as a foreign main proceeding. The firm also successfully obtained recognition—over an objection—of the Korean court’s order deeming Mr. Bang’s alleged transfer of his asserted claims against FTX to a related party to be a fraudulent transfer. Through the recognition, the firm continues to facilitate an orderly process for the realization and distribution of Mr. Bang’s assets to his creditors, including the claims against FTX asserted to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
