Shirley Cho Selected to Los Angeles Daily Journal’s 2025 “Top Women Lawyers” List

The firm is pleased to announce that Shirley Cho has been selected for inclusion in the Los Angeles Daily Journal’s 2025 “Top Women Lawyers” List. This recognition highlights outstanding women attorneys and their notable achievements in the legal profession. 

Shirley’s profile in this year’s issue looks at how her 30-year career began, when Judge John E. Ryan selected her as his law clerk during the historic Orange County bankruptcy case. “At the time, Judge Ryan was handling the largest municipal bankruptcy case in our nation’s history, county of Orange, and I was hooked,” Shirley told the Daily Journal.

The profile highlights some of her most notable cases: representing South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in a $1.2 billion claim, successfully managing the complex restructuring of Athenex, and representing the unsecured creditors committee in Party City’s $1.5 billion bankruptcy proceedings.
