Very Good Debates

John Lucas will moderate three debates at the annual ABI Southwest Bankruptcy Conference:

• Judicial Debate—Resolved: Structured settlements between secured lenders and unsecured creditors’ committees must always follow the Bankruptcy Code’s priority structure.
• Business Debate—Resolved, a company deriving income indirectly from marijuana sales that are legal under state law should be eligible for relief under the Bankruptcy Code.
• Consumer Debate—Resolved, a consumer debtor should not be entitled to a discharge under section 1328 of the Bankruptcy Code if all postpetition mortgage payments are not made.
