Representation of the foreign representative (KPMG) of Canacol Energy and certain affiliates, a Columbian natural gas exploration and production company. With the company facing severe liquidity issues in late 2025, reduced natural gas production, and other adverse circumstances, the foreign representative, with the firm’s assistance, filed chapter 15 cases in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York,and seeks to facilitate the debtors’ pending CCCA insolvency proceedings in Canadian court and preserve the debtors’ U.S. based assets.
