Representation of the creditors’ committee in the chapter 11 bankruptcy of the business known nationally as Classic Party Rentals in the District of Delaware. The company was saddled with more than $200 million in debt when the case was filed. Even though unsecured creditors were “out of the money,” the firm negotiated a settlement that made a distribution possible while ensuring creditors would be immune from any postconfirmation litigation.
