JOANN Inc. (2025)
Representation of the creditors’ committee in the 2025 chapter 11 cases of JOANN and its debtor affiliates – the nation’s category leader in sewing and fabrics and arts and crafts products, with 800 prior store locations — in the District of Delaware. The debtors had emerged from their first chapter 11 cases in April 2024, after implementing a prepackaged plan that restructured the company’s debts; nine months later, the company again filed for bankruptcy in Delaware bankruptcy court to implement a liquidation of the debtors’ assets. The creditors’ committee, with the firm’s counsel, was successful in negotiating a consensual liquidating plan, which was approved by the bankruptcy court in July 2025, and which established a creditor trust for the benefit of unsecured creditors.
