Loews Cineplex Entertainment

Representation of the creditors’ committee in the cross-border bankruptcy proceedings of Loews Cineplex Entertainment and its Canadian subsidiaries in the Southern District of New York. Loews was at that time the second largest movie theater chain in the world, with over 3,500 screens and revenues exceeding $1 billion. The firm was also involved in the Canadian CCAA proceedings on behalf of the creditors’ committee, and ultimately negotiated a plan that provided for a meaningful distribution to general unsecured creditors.
