NOTICE: The Bankruptcy Court set the dates by which claims must be filed in this case. For general claims and governmental unit claims, the bar date was November 30, 2020. On May 1, 2020, the Roman Catholic Church for the Archdiocese of New Orleans (“New Orleans Archdiocese”) filed bankruptcy case number 20-10846 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The Honorable Meredith S. Grabill is the presiding judge.

Archdiocese Committee Appointment

On May 20, 2020, the United States Trustee appointed the committee of creditors in the New Orleans Archdiocese case (“Committee”); Committee membership was reconstituted on June 10, and again on October 8, 2020. The Committee has selected Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP (“PSZJ”) as its counsel and Locke Lord as its local counsel; the Bankruptcy Court approved the employment on September 17, 2020. James Stang and Linda Cantor are the principal attorneys at PSZJ responsible for this engagement. A separate committee representing unsecured commercial creditors was also appointed.
