Representation of the creditors’ committee in the chapter 11 cases of Fairway Group, leading food retailers in the greater New York City metropolitan area operating 14 supermarkets, in the Southern District of New York. With the firm’s assistance, the committee played an important role in the sales of the debtors’ assets and plan confirmation. The sale transactions were successfully consummated and a fully consensual plan was confirmed, providing unsecured creditors—who otherwise were subject to uncertainties and litigation risks—distributions from a significant cash fund and other consideration.
