Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal Recognizes Jason Rosell as a 2022 “Top Cannabis Lawyer”
The firm is pleased to announce that Jason Rosell has been named to the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal’s 2022 list of the “Top Cannabis Lawyers” in California. Jason leads the firm’s Cannabis Restructuring Group in providing legal corporate restructuring services to cannabis industry companies, lenders, and investors, among others.
In his profile, Jason reflects on the formal establishment of the firm’s Cannabis Restructuring Group in April 2022, noting its necessity due to current pressures in the cannabis industry, including oversupply, high taxes, inflation, and rising interest rates. PSZJ has been advising clients in the cannabis industry for half a decade.
Jason also speaks on other challenges in the industry, such as the inability of cannabis companies to seek protection under the Bankruptcy Code because cannabis remains illegal at the federal level. He also shares one of his recent deals in which he completed an out-of-court restructuring of the cultivator Loudpack, serving as counsel to an ad hoc group of unsecured noteholders and aiding it in a three-party merger that subsequently created California’s second largest cannabis company.
