Brad Sandler was recently quoted in Eriq Gardner's Hollywood Reporter article "Why Bankruptcy May Not Be the Best Option Now for Hollywood's Distressed Firms," which discusses the pandemic's impact on the entertainment business. According to Mr. Sandler, bankruptcy is currently a poor option for many industry companies, and an increase in chapter 11 filings will likely be an indicator of economic recovery.
"If there's an increase in bankruptcy filings, this means credit has opened up and acquirers are back in the marketplace," he said. "Bankruptcies are generally bad news, but here, it may signal that the markets are getting back to business."
