James Stang Quoted Regarding Legal Options for USA Gymnastics

James Stang was recently quoted in Terri Laymon’s Gymnastics News Network article “USAG & Lawyers Face Off Over Safety & Solvency,” which discusses the public allegations concerning sexual misconduct against USA Gymnastics, and how the USAG case is very similar to the sex abuse cases against Catholic dioceses. According to Stang, for the continuity of the sport and its tiers of members, USAG could benefit from a chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
“An organization such as USAG could benefit from a chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Since this is a national filing it will centralize the claims and create an automatic stay of the lawsuits in the state courts,” says Stang.
