Zips Car Wash, LLC
Representation of the creditors’ committee in the bankruptcy cases of Zips Car Wash and its debtor affiliates in the Northern District of Texas. The debtors were one of the largest privately owned express car wash operator in the U.S., with more than 260 locations across 23 states before the debtors’ chapter 11 filing. The debtors initially proposed a reorganization plan that would give the new equity in the reorganized company to the prepetition secured lenders, with absolutely no recovery for general unsecured creditors. With the firm’s assistance, through objections, extensive discovery and negotiations, the committee reached a settlement with the debtors resulting in plan amendments that created a trust for unsecured creditors funded with millions of dollars and other assets. That amended consensual plan was confirmed by the Texas bankruptcy court in April 2025.
