Hayley Winograd Writes NYSBA Article on Trailblazing Women Featuring Laura Davis Jones
Hayley Winograd’s article, entitled “Trailblazing Women Forging Their Own Paths in Private Practice,” was recently published in WILS Connect, a publication run by the New York State Bar Association’s Women in Law Section. The article examines the gender disparities in the legal profession and spotlights trailblazing women who have set an example for others seeking to enter the field. One of the featured attorneys was name partner Laura Davis Jones, who became widely recognized as a leading lawyer in bankruptcy, a practice that is male-dominated.
“As a young lawyer in the 1980s and 1990s,” Hayley writes, “Jones explained that it was unheard of for a woman to be a named partner of a national firm and ‘there were many times that, as a woman, you just weren’t taken that seriously.’”
