Reuters Legal News interviewed Laura Davis Jones as part of a video feature on retail bankruptcies and why 2021 has seen the fewest big retail chapter 11 cases since 2018.
Ms. Jones noted that when retailers emerge from the "overhang of the pandemic" and rent moratoria have ended, they will need to make sure they have properly "right sized," can maintain a sufficient labor pool, have boosted their online offerings, and are able to work through issues with landlords.
